This past June, the Festival of the Sun returned to Italy for its second edition, once again curated by legendary producer Rick Rubin. Celebrating the Summer Solstice, the festival brings together musicians, artists, and creative thinkers for a celebration of creativity in all its forms, and this year, Menē was there to help set the tone, hosting the festival's opening night with an intimate dinner.

Where the 2024 debut stayed close to Casole d'Elsa, this year's edition stretched across a broader swath of Tuscany. New venues joined the festival's map of unexpected locations, including the roofless medieval abbey of San Galgano in Chiusdino, the ancient amphitheater of Volterra, the frescoed Salone dei Cinquecento in Florence, and the walled hill town of Monteriggioni. Each site was chosen to turn a piece of Italian history into a stage for a single night.

This year's program expanded to five days of music, talks, art, and exhibitions. A unique concept of the festival is its lineup remaining undisclosed until the week of the festival, attendees received only a hint of what was coming next. This excitement permeated the atmosphere of the weekend with exciting performances and talks unfolding over the course of the weekend.

The festival also welcomes visitors from around Italy, while reaching well over a million more online, regenerating historic sites by giving them new life as festival venues, and building tailor-made partnerships with sponsors who share the festival's values. It isn't a single weekend of music; Festival of the Sun is a cultural fixture for the Tuscan region, and for Italy.
